They work by reducing theamount of acid that your stomach produces.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Omeprazole is used to treat the following conditions:</b></p>\n<p>In adults:</p>\n<p>&lsquo;Gastro-esophageal reflux disease&rsquo; (GERD). This is where acid from the stomach escapes into the gullet (the tube which connects your throat to your stomach) causing pain, inflammation and heartburn.</p>\n<p>Ulcers in the upper part of the intestine or stomach.</p>\n<p>Ulcers which are infected with bacteria called &lsquo;Helicobacter pylori&rsquo;.</p>\n<p>Ulcers caused by medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). Omeprazole can also be used to stop ulcers from forming if you are taking NSAIDs.</p>\n<p>Too much acid in the stomach caused by a growth in the pancreas (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome).</p>\n<p>In children:</p>\n<p>Children over 1 year of age and &ge; 10 kg</p>\n<p>&lsquo;Gastro-esophageal reflux disease&rsquo; (GERD). In children, the symptoms of the condition can include the return of stomach contents into the mouth, vomiting and poor weight gain.</p>\n<p>Children and adolescents over 4 years of age</p>\n<p>Ulcers which are infected with bacteria called &lsquo;Helicobacter pylori&rsquo;.&nbsp;</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Do not take Omeprazole:&nbsp;</b></p>\n<p>If you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>If you are allergic to medicines containing other proton pump inhibitors.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Warnings and precautions:</b></p>\n<p>Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Omeprazole. Omeprazole may hide the symptoms of other diseases. Therefore, if any of the following happen to you before you start taking Omeprazole or while you are taking it, talk to your doctor straight away:&nbsp;</p>\n<p>You lose a lot of weight for no reason and have problems swallowing.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>You get stomach pain or indigestion.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>You begin to vomit food or blood.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>You pass black stools (blood-stained feces).&nbsp;</p>\n<p>You experience severe or persistent diarrhea.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>You have severe liver problems.</p>\n<p>You are due to have a specific blood test (Chromogranin A).&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Taking a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole, especially over a period of more than one year, may slightly increase your risk of fracture in the hip, wrist or spine. Tell your doctor if you have osteoporosis or if you are taking corticosteroids (which can increase the risk of osteoporosis).</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Possible side effects:</b></p>\n<p>Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects, stop taking Omeprazole and contact a doctor immediately: severe allergic reaction or symptoms of liver problems.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Other side effects include:</b></p>\n<p>Headache</p>\n<p>diarrhea, stomach pain</p>\n<p>constipation, flatulence</p>\n<p>Benign polyps in the stomach</p>\n<p>Swelling of the feet and ankles</p>\n<p>Disturbed sleep</p>\n<p>Skin rash and itchy skin</p>\n<p>feeling unwell and lacking energy</p>\n<p>Blood problems&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Low levels of sodium in the blood</p>\n<p>Feeling agitated, confused or depressed</p>\n<p>Taste changes</p>\n<p>Eyesight problems such as blurred vision</p>\n<p>Suddenly feeling wheezy</p>\n<p>Dry mouth</p>\n<p>An inflammation of the inside of the mouth</p>\n<p>Liver problems</p>\n<p>Hair loss</p>\n<p>Skin rash on exposure to sunshine</p>\n<p>Joint pain</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>Other medicines and Omeprazole:</b></p>\n<p>Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines. This includes medicines that you buy without a prescription. This is because Omeprazole can affect the way some medicines work and some medicines can have an effect on Omeprazole.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of the following medicines used for:</p>\n<p>Fungal infection</p>\n<p>heart problems</p>\n<p>anxiety</p>\n<p>epilepsy</p>\n<p>tuberculosis</p>\n<p>HIV infection</p>\n<p>organ transplantation</p>\n<p>mild depression</p>\n<p>intermittent claudication</p>\n<p>blood clots</p>\n<p>cancer</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>How to take Omeprazole:</b></p>\n<p>Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.</p>\n<p>Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take and how long to take them for. This will depend on your condition and how old you are.</p>\n<p>It is recommended that you take your capsules in the morning.</p>\n<p>You can take your capsules with food or on an empty stomach.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Swallow your capsules whole with half a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the capsules.</p>\n<p>This is because the capsules contain coated pellets which stop the medicine from being broken</p>\n<p>down by the acid in your stomach. It is important not to damage the pellets.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>How to store Omeprazole:</b></p>\n<p>Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton, bottle label or blister after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Do not store above 30&deg;C.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Store this medicine in the original package (blister) or keep the bottle tightly closed in order to protect from moisture.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. In particular, tell your doctor if you are taking: Medicines to thin the blood (anticoagulants) such as warfarin.</li>\n<li>Your doctor will need to check that the anticoagulant is working properly. Medicines for diabetes, taken by mouth</li>\n<li>Medicines that act on the heart and blood vessels called &lsquo;calcium channel<br />blockers&rsquo; such as dihydropyridines and verapamil.</li>\n<li>Medicine for epilepsy called phenytoin.</li>\n<li>Medicines to lower cholesterol called lovastatin or simvastatin</li>\n<li>Tell your doctor before taking, or if you are already taking any of the above.<br />They may need to alter your treatment.</li>\n<li>Pregnancy and breast-feeding</li>\n<li>If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning<br />to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.</li>\n<li>You may still be able to use Miconazole nitrate cream if your doctor thinks you need.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>How To Use:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you.</li>\n<li>Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>For Infections of The Vagina: Your doctor may suggest treatment over 7 days:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Insert the cream into the vagina once daily before bedtime for 7 days<br />Your doctor will tell you how much cream to use and for how long you should use it.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Inserting the cream into your vagina:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unscrew the filled applicator and replace the cap on the tube Lie down with your knees bent and spread apart.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Insert the yellow end of the applicator with the green band well into your vagina:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Push the plunger firmly but gently.</li>\n<li>Empty the cream into your vagina by pushing the plunger as far as it will go</li>\n<li>Remove the applicator and put it in the bin with your household rubbish</li>\n<li>Always wash your hands with soap and water after using the cream</li>\n<li>The cream does not stain your skin or clothes but you may want to use a sanitary towel.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>For infections outside the vagina:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apply the cream to the affected area twice each day.</li>\n<li>Lightly cover the skin around your vagina with a thin, even layer of cream.</li>\n<li>Always wash your hands with soap and water after using the cream.</li>\n<li>Keep using the cream until the course is finished, even during your period.</li>\n<li>Do this, even if the redness, itching and discharge go away before the end of the course.<br />If you forget to use:</li>\n<li>Don&rsquo;t worry, apply the next dose of cream as usual and keep using the<br />cream as your doctor has told you.</li>\n<li>Do not use a double dose of cream to make up for a missed dose</li>\n<li>If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Possible side effects:</strong></p>\n<p>Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.<br />Stop using cream and tell your doctor straight away if you notice the following:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Severe irritation or reddening of the skin, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, light headedness, wheezing or difficulty breathing or other signs of allergy during the first few days of treatment.</li>\n<li>This only happens in a small number of people Other side effects:</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This is much milder than an allergic reaction.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tell your doctor or pharmacist if these feelings continue Skin rash or hives (also known as nettle rash or urticaria).</li>\n<li>Stomach pain Low stomach pains (pelvic cramps).</li>\n<li>Infection of urine or pain in passing urine.</li>\n<li>Vaginal bleeding.</li>\n<li>Feeling sick (nausea).</li>\n<li>Redness of the face.</li>\n<li>Reporting of side effects.</li>\n<li>If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>How to store Miconazole cream:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.</li>\n<li>Do not store above 25&deg;C. During the first two days of treatment you may be asked to apply the drops as often as every hour.</div>\n<div>You must not use the bottle if the tamper-proof seal on the bottle neck is broken before you first use it.</div>\n<div></div>\n<div><b>Apply your eye drops in the following way:</b></div>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash your hands. Shake the bottle well before use. Tilt your head back and look at the ceiling.</li>\n<li>Gently pull the lower eyelid down until there is a small pocket.</li>\n<li>Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it to release one or two drops into each eye that needs treatment.</li>\n<li>Let go of the lower lid, and close your eye. Your doctor may discontinue the medication if this happens.</li>\n<li>This medication may interfere with some lab tests that are required during investigations for neuroendocrine tumors (tumors that arise from the hormones and nervous system) and therefore your doctor may recommend stopping this medication at least 5 days before undergoing the test if needed. Make sure to tell your doctor if you are due to undergo a specific lab test (Chromogranin A).&nbsp;</li>\n<li>This medication is usually used for up to 4 weeks, unless your doctor recommends a longer duration of taking the medication.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n<li>This medication may affect your ability to absorb Vitamin B12 if used for long-term.</li>\n<li>This medication may increase the risk of bone fractures if taken at high doses and over long durations (more than 1 year). The risk is higher in elderly patients, in those who already have osteoporosis (low bone density) and in those who are taking corticosteroids. Your doctor may recommend supplementation with calcium and vitamin D depending on your case.&nbsp;</li>\n<li>This medication may cause low magnesium levels if used for three months or more. Signs of low magnesium levels include uncontrolled involuntary muscle movements, fatigue, confusion, convulsions, abnormal heart rhythms and dizziness. Make sure to contact your doctor if you develop any of these signs. Your doctor may recommend measuring your magnesium levels before starting this medication especially if you are at higher risk of low magnesium levels (e.g. long-term treatment with the medication or receiving other medications with this one that may exacerbate magnesium levels reduction in your blood). Low levels of magnesium may also cause low calcium or potassium levels in the blood</li>\n<li>Make sure to tell your doctor if you do not feel better after 2 weeks of starting this medication.</li>\n<li>Make sure to tell your doctor if you have been taking this medication for more than 4 weeks.</li>\n<li>Make sure to talk to your doctor immediately if you develop signs, like, vomiting especially if bloody and repetitive (appears as dark coffee grounds), pale skin, weakness, black or bloody stools, stomach pain, unintentional weight loss that is not related to exercise or diet, difficulty or pain when swallowing and chest pain.</li>\n<li>Your doctor may recommend some blood tests. Make sure to tell your doctor that you are currently taking this medicine if you are due to have any blood test.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Possible side effects:</b></p>\n<p>Possible serious side effects of Pantoprazole include signs of an allergic reaction, like rash and hives, signs of serious skin reactions, like, bleeding and losing skin around genitals, nose, mouth or eyes, blistering or peeling of the skin, rash with swelling and rash upon sun exposure, signs of liver damage, like, yellowing of the eyes and skin, signs of kidney damage, like, lower back pain with fever and painful urination. Common side effects include benign polyps in the stomach. Other uncommon or rare side effects include headache, diarrhea, feeling sick, flatulence, vomiting, bloating, dry mouth, dizziness, constipation, skin rash or hives, feeling tired or weak, stomach discomfort and pain, itching, fractures in the spine, hip or wrist, sleep problems, muscle joints, increase in liver enzymes in a blood test, changes or loss of sense of taste, blurred vision, painful joints, weight changes, enlarged breasts in males, increased body temperature, swelling of the extremities, depression, increased bilirubin and fat levels and a sharp drop in circulating granular white blood cells, decreased blood platelets (can cause easy bruising, delayed wound healing and bleeding), loss of coordination and orientation, decreased white blood cells (may increase risk of infections), decreased red blood cells, watery diarrhea, burning sensation or numbness, feeling of prickling, pins and needles or tingling, confusion, decreased level of magnesium and sodium in blood, hallucination and rash with painful joints.&nbsp;</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Other medicines and Pantoprazole :</b></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medications.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n<li>If you are taking some antifungals like ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections).</li>\n<li>If you are taking HIV protease inhibitors (medications used to treat HIV), like, atazanavir and nelfinavir.</li>\n<li>If you are taking warfarin or phenprocoumon (blood thinners).</li>\n<li>If you are taking methotrexate (used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and cancer).</li>\n<li>If you are taking other acid reducing medications, like, another proton pump inhibitor (e.g. lansoprazole, omeprazole, rabeprazole) or an H2 antagonist (e.g. famotidine, ranitidine).
